New Operator And Three Gulfstream Jets In South Florida

Avid Air is now operating from KPBI West Palm Beach Airport under Part 135 certificate STZA018I by FS Air Service Inc. Avid manages and operates – new to charter – three Gulfstream III large cabin jets. The G-III aircraft offer ample room for up to 12 passengers, with a spacious interior and berthing/sleeping arrangements for 4. Amenities such as power outlets and an in-flight phone allow for global connectivity while in flight. This brings the number of Gulfstream III aircraft based in South Florida for charter to 7, according to prominent charter consultant and brokerage New Flight Charters, between Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach airports. Travel Management CO Acquired by XOJet Stakeholder TPG Growth

San Francisco-based capital equity firm TPG Growth confirmed today that it signed a definitive agreement on December 30 to acquire Travel Management Co. (TMC Jets), an on-demand aircraft charter firm in Elkhart, Ind.TPG Growth, which also owns a stake in private jet membership firm XOJet, is acquiring TMC Jets for an undisclosed amount from founder Pete Liegl, who formed the company in 2006. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter.

In February 2013, XOJet and TMC Jets announced a commercial partnership, though they have remained—and under the new ownership structure will continue to remain—separate entities, according to TMC president Scott Wise. In fact, he stressed TMC will continue to be “neutral” and work with leading broker distribution partners such as Apollo Jets, Sentient Jet, EJM/NetJets and XOJet.

Accordng to TPG Growth, the investment in TMC Jets as “an opportunity to further broaden its presence in private aviation, an industry that has seen multiple years of growth and improving sector dynamics.” TPGindicated that it plans to provide more capital for further investment in TMC, which could further expand its aircraft fleet.

TMC currently operates 68 wholly owned aircraft, including 36 Hawker 400XPs, 29 Hawker 800XPs, two Challenger 604s and a King Air 200. It also has an outstanding order with Nextant Aerospace to convert its Hawker 400XPs to 400XTis. These conversions are currently on hold, Wise told AIN, but could move forward “at a later date.” He said there is a solid business case to add more Challenger 604s to the fleet.

Francis Aviation announces the re-launch of its charter flight service with two new King Air 35i 9-passenger turboprops. Francis also operates a King Air 200.

“Francis Aviation is proud to announce the re-launch of our charter services. We recently purchased two new King Air 350i aircraft,” said Andre. “These are the latest state-of-the-art aircraft, and we are offering on-demand services for the most reliable option in business, individual and group travel.”

A fixed-base operator (FBO) service in New Mexico with locations at both the Las Cruces International Airport and near El Paso, TX at the Santa Teresa International Jetport. Francis Aviation is headed by Scott Andre, who was named President of the company in March of this year. The charter flight service is located in Santa Teresa, a suburb of El Paso.
The new aircraft comfortably hold nine people and can travel distances up to 1,800 miles without refueling. Luxurious leather seats and both in-cabin and personal in-flight entertainment systems are standard, and passengers have full control of lighting and climate.

Prior to departure, passengers have the option of pre-ordering from an extensive catering menu and loading up on refreshments provided by the staff at the Francis Aviation terminal in Santa Teresa.

Francis Aviation hosted a grand opening event inside the airport’s hanger in Santa Teresa. Guests toured the facilities and learned more about the aircraft and the benefits of charter services.

“There is a long list of advantages to flying charter versus commercial. Most importantly, the client is the decision-maker,” explains Andre. “They get to decide where to go, when to go, and who they want to take with them.”

The CI Jets passenger fleet includes two Cessna Citations; a CJ2 and CJ3. The CJ2 is based in Santa Barbara.

Signature Acquires Landmark for $2.065 Billion

Deal would make the largest fixed base operator in the world.

Signature Flight Support parent company BBA Aviation has agreed to purchase Landmark Aviation from affiliates of the Carlyle Group for $2.065 billion. Included in the deal are Landmark’s 68 FBOs in North America and Europe, and its MRO business, as well as its fleet of 64 charter aircraft and more than 50 other managed aircraft, which would give BBA its first involvement in the charter/management segment. The Landmark charter fleet is the fourth largest worldwide.

The transaction, subject to approval by regulators and company shareholders, is expected to close early next year.

“The acquisition would enable customers to benefit from an extension of Signature’s industry-leading service offering and its operational excellence across a much larger network of high-quality locations,” said BBA CEO Simon Pryce. “Combining Signature and Landmark Aviation also would realize significant cost synergies as well as substantial tax benefits.”

Signature operates 133 FBOs in its worldwide network, and there is currently redundancy at 12 airports in the U.S. and Europe, including Washington Dulles International, Teterboro, Westchester County, Le Bourget and London Luton where the two chains compete, which could lead to some required divestiture.

VistaJet Adds Jet Charter Service in China

Chartering a private jet to China is easy, but flying privately between airports within the country can be challenging. To address this problem, the Swiss business-aviation provider VistaJet has partnered with China’s Apex Air to provide point-to-point private air service throughout the country in a Chinese-registered Bombardier Challenger 850 managed and operated by Apex. VistaJet is the first international aviation charter company to offer this service.

One of the largest charter operators worldwide, VistaJet has 47 heavy and long range jets for charter now in the US, Europe and China. The entire fleet and details are available only in FlightList PRO.

VistaJet officials say they plan to add at least one more China-based airplane later this year, and they will continue to expand the line to meet demand. The company has been working for months to secure all the partnerships and permissions required to launch the new service.

The Challenger 850 can carry up to 14 passengers—with berths for seven—at speeds up to 528 mph over a range of 3,230 miles.

New Part-135 Seaplane Operator in FL, Five Now In State

Jones Brothers & Co. Air and Seaplane Adventures, in Central Florida used to be limited to flying scenic tours within a 25-mile radius of its base at Wooton Park under Part-91 provisions.

Not any more.

The company recently earned its Federal Aviation Administration Part 135 on-demand passenger air charter certification, meaning it can now fly unlimited distances for day trips and even multi-day excursions.

Jones Brothers has been working with the city to earn the FAA certification for two years. Pages of documentation were prepared and submitted to FAA officials, its aircraft were inspected, flight logs examined and pilots screened and tested. Both aircraft and pilots had to demonstrate fitness and competence to ensure the highest safety standards are being met.

Jones Brothers is based in Tavares, Florida, known as “America’s Seaplane City”.

“We have a truly mutually beneficial relationship with the city, which is key to survival, growth and success,” Rob Galloway, who is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Jones Brothers, said in the release. “Without the city’s total support, we would not be here.

TWC Aviation Now Landmark – 4th Largest Fleet In Charter

Charter operator Landmark Aviation has completed the re-branding of TWC Aviation based in Van Nuys and San Jose, CA following the acquisition in April 2015 and is now operating under the Landmark name. TWC was founded in 1998 and most recently operated 29 jets of various makes and sizes. TWC’s operating certificate remains intact and operations are now under the Landmark name.

Temporary Landmark signage is up at both California locations. TWC’s office in White Plains, NY has been relocated to the Landmark facility at HPN, and the Scottsdale, AZ airport recently opened office is now closed.

Landmark Aviation’s charter fleet now numbers 63, the fourth largest charter fleet behind Executive Jet Management with 100 aircraft for charter, Travel Management Company with 67 and Delta Private Jets with 65 aircraft.
